CAIR-CAN Ramadan 2011 Information Kit, Community Safety Kit, Calendars and Prayer Time Sources Now AvailableThursday, August 04, 2011 1:19 pmRamadan 2011 Information Kit CAIR-CAN has published its revised 2011 Ramadan Information Kit designed to help you in spreading awareness about Ramadan. We have revised and updated annual Ramadan Community Kit 2011, a comprehensive package that teaches Canadian Muslims how to inform, educate and raise awareness about Ramadan with their neighbors, co-workers and friends of other faith and non-faith groups. Get your copy here. Community Safety Kit This Community Safety Kit highlights some of the best safety practices already in place at institutions across Canada. It includes a series of practical and precautionary measures communities can take to help ensure the safety of their places of worship and congregations. We encourage institutions to review existing security practices and report any suspicious activity to their local police, RCMP and CAIR-CAN. Get your copy here. Ramadan 2011 Calendars As it has for several years now, CAIR-CAN has begun our annual Ramadan fundraising campaign with Ramadan timetable calendars being mailed and distributed to 10 cities across Canada. These include: • Calgary • Edmonton • Halifax • London • Montreal • Ottawa • Regina • Toronto • Vancouver • Windsor Unfortunately we were unable to obtain the prayer time schedules for some cities that were represented last year but hope to have calendars for these and other cities next year. If you live in one of the aforementioned cities but are not on our mailing list and would like to receive a calendar please write to us at info(@)caircan(.)ca. We have a limited number remaining which will be distributed on a first requested basis. OR you can help us reduce our carbon footprint by downloading and printing the calendar for your city from our website here. Ramadan 2010 Prayer Time Sources The sources of the Ramadan 2011 prayer times in the cities listed above are available here. PLEASE SUPPORT CAIR-CAN All of this work represents a mere fraction of the efforts of the Board, staff and volunteers at CAIR-CAN on behalf of Canadian Muslims. In addition to this we continue to advocate on behalf of high profile cases of Canadians still detained abroad including Bashir Makhtal and Huseyin Celil to name a few. We also deal with less high profile but equally important cases of anti-Muslim discrimination and harassment and we continue to document and advise people who, for example, have been contacted for questioning by CSIS or who have been prevented from traveling. None of this is possible without your help. As a national not-for-profit organization, we have and will never accept funding from any foreign government or organization and we depend entirely on the generosity of donors such as you.
